Published in 12 parts over 6 volumes, Willis’ work is a vast collection of biographical notices of some of the most notable Irish figures in history. Volume VI Part I was published in 1845. This volume begins the political section with John Philpot Curran. Other figures of note in the political section include Lord Edward Fitzgerald and Robert Emmet. The Ecclesiastical part features a section on Dr. Hugh Hamilton, Bishop of Ossary. The Literary part of the volume contains sections on Oliver Goldsmith and Elizabeth Hamilton.
