Developing research skills in Irish Family History: Intermediate to advanced..

On Thursday 7th Dec. Blanchardstown Library held a reception to mark the completion of this course.

31 students completed the Eight-week course taught by Fiona Fitzsimons in Autumn-Winter 2017.

Blanchardstown Library provided light refreshments on the evening.

Our guest speaker was author Jim Lacey, who spoke on the history of the Phoenix Park.

The class turned the tables on their teacher, with a surprise present.

Fiona Fitzsimons replied: “I’m not usually lost for words… A sincere thank you to everyone who’s turned up hail, rain or shine every week. Our group gelled very well, we all have a common interest in family history, and we’ve shared a classroom for over a year.”

A sincere thank you to Librarians Siobhan Walshe and Linda Donnelly of Blanchardstown Library.
